Design with Dedication – A Look into the Journey of a Nesting Table

04/07/2025

At Gusta Design, every piece of furniture is treated with the respect it deserves. We are passionate about ensuring that our collection is not only visually beautiful, but also technically sound and ready to serve new homes for decades to come.

A great example of our meticulous craftsmanship is this Danish nesting table from the 1960s, which recently underwent a thorough restoration.

Step by Step

The restoration process always begins with a thorough assessment. We carefully inspect every joint, surface, and structural detail. In the case of this nesting table, the frames were disassembled, the joints repaired, and the surfaces meticulously sanded to remove the old finish and signs of wear—without compromising the beauty of the wood grain.

Tone and Protection

After cleaning and repairs, the wood surface was treated with a new oil-wax finish. This not only enhances the natural tone and depth of the wood, but also protects it against future wear. The result is a matte, natural surface that highlights the wood's original character.

Ready to Be Used and Loved Again

Finally, the tables were carefully reassembled, piece by piece, forming once again a beautiful and functional whole. This restored nesting table set is more than just a design element – it's a piece of history, made to withstand both time and use.

Why Does This Matter to Us?

We don't view restoration as merely a technical task. It's our way of honoring the craftsmanship and high-quality materials these pieces were originally made from. Each restored item continues its life with dignity and sustainability—never discarded for minor wear.

That's why at Gusta Design, every piece is individually assessed, and some, like this nesting table, are given a complete restoration.

We invite you to explore our collection—perhaps the next piece of design history will find its way into your home.
