Illum Wikkelsø Bar Cabinet in Teak

Illum Wikkelsø Teak Bar Cabinet – C.F. Christensen, Denmark, 1960s

An exceptional Danish teak bar cabinet designed by Illum Wikkelsø and manufactured by C.F. Christensen in the 1960s. The cabinet is a beautiful example of Wikkelsø's refined approach to Danish Modern design, combining a restrained exterior with carefully considered functional details. The design dates from the 1960s, with corresponding example referenced in Mobilia, issue no. 88, November 1967.

When closed, the cabinet has an elegant and understated appearance. The large doors beautifully showcase the warm colour and natural grain of the teak, while the tall, slender legs give the piece a light and sophisticated presence.

Opening the doors reveals a beautifully designed bar interior with mirrored surfaces, a glass shelf and integrated lighting. The inside of the doors features dedicated holders for bottles and bar accessories. A particularly clever detail is the pull-out serving surface beneath the cabinet, providing additional space for preparing and serving drinks.

Everything can be neatly stored inside when not in use, transforming the complete bar into an elegant piece of teak furniture.

A distinctive and beautifully crafted example of 1960s Danish Mid-Century Modern design, ideal for anyone looking for a functional statement piece with genuine Scandinavian character.
