Poul Cadovius Royal System in Teak

Poul Cadovius Royal System Wall Unit, Denmark, 1960s

An original Royal System wall unit designed by the renowned Danish designer Poul Cadovius, one of the true icons of Scandinavian mid-century modern design.

Introduced in 1948, the Royal System revolutionised furniture design by moving storage from the floor onto the wall, creating lighter interiors while making more efficient use of living space. Its innovative concept remains highly influential today.

This beautifully composed configuration includes multiple teak shelves together with a three-drawer cabinet, a sliding-door cabinet and a distinctive woven-front wall cabinet, offering an elegant balance of open display and concealed storage.

The modular construction allows every shelf and cabinet to be repositioned along the wall-mounted rails, making the system exceptionally flexible and adaptable. Additional modules can also be incorporated over time, allowing the installation to evolve with changing needs.

A timeless design icon and one of Poul Cadovius' most celebrated creations.
